The IAT/CRC Centre d'imatge Molecular counts on the equipment necessary to carry out PET studies in rodents: a microPET scanner, anaesthesia by isoflurane inhalation, level II biosafety cabinets and an animal facility equipped with cage-individualized ventilation. This equipment allows to undertake both longitudinal and transversal studies, as well as to study the pharmacokinetics of the radiotracers used.
In addition, it has an area for microsurgery and dissection, a cell culture laboratory that allows the performance of in vitro uptake assays, and a system that allows us to obtain autoradiography images after in vivo or ex vivo administration of a radiotracer.
Also, the IAT/CRC Centre d'imatge Molecular has access to an optical imaging device for bioluminescence that allows the monitoring of cellular populations in vitro, as well as grafted in vivo. |
